A short rant on smart speakers
The Alexa and Google Nest share one thing: they suck. Sure, its cool to be able to say "Alexa, turn on the lights" and it doing that, but this can be done from a phone with their respective apps. And half of the time, IT DOESN'T WORK. "Sorry, I didn't get that."'s are too common, when its something as simple as turning on some lights. And they just invade your privacy. Sure, they might say "we respect your privacy" but do they? These devices are always listening, always sending data to their servers. I really hope "smart" speakers get smarter.
